Tips to get paid faster
- Send the invoice the day the work is delivered. Late invoices get paid late.
- Describe each line item in the client's language ("Homepage redesign – 3 revisions"), not internal shorthand.
- State a due date, not just "upon receipt". Net 15 is common for freelancers.
- Ask for a deposit (25–50%) on large projects and show it as a separate line.

Frequently asked questions
How do I invoice as a freelancer with no company?
Use your full legal name as the sender, add your email and address, and include your tax ID if you have one. You do not need a registered company to send a valid invoice.
Should freelancers charge tax on invoices?
Only if you are registered for sales tax, VAT or GST in your country. The template sets tax to 0% by default; change the tax rate per line item if you need it.
Can I bill hourly and fixed-price work on one invoice?
Yes. Add hourly work with hours as the quantity, and fixed-price work as a single line with quantity 1.
